Kings - Jonathan Quick placed on injured reserve

On Thursday, The Los Angeles Kings, placed the star goaltender, Jonathan Quick on injured reserve. Quick had to undergo an MRI on the same day after he suffered a lower-body injury in the season opener against the San Jose Sharks.
There was no date given for his return.
Jeff Zatkoff will take over net-minding duties. He filled in for Quick beginning with the second period of Wednesday’s loss. To back up Zatkof, Peter Budaj was recalled from the AHL.
Kings coach Darryl Sutter told reporters:
“Jonathan’s obviously a special player. You just don’t replace that. It’s no different than any other star player in your lineup. You just don’t replace it or expect somebody to play the same way or do the same things, but we also know that we’re quite capable at that position.”
