Pakistani ladies are rolling with full force in sports in every corner of the world. The latest success girls in green brought to Nation is not one but three Gold medals in a Powerlifting championship in Oman.
On Friday at Sultan Qaboos Stadium in Muscat, Oman Asian Bench Press Championships 2015 were organized where Pakistani Powerlifters represented the country for the first time and impressed everyone including event organizer Saud al Khanjari, “We are glad that we were able to feature Pakistani women here.” He said among other things.
In competition Twinkle Sohail became the first woman to win an international gold medal for Pakistan in the event on Friday.
Sonia Azmat of Lahore ran her Indian and Kazakhstan’s competitors out of 63kg class and Win her Gold medal.
And following the 2 winning country-mates former Kabaddi player from Lodhran, Shazia Butt came out as the best powerlifter in the open-weight event, defeating players from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
The proud coach Rashed Muhammad Malik told media that the girls has been training for 2 years. “Our women have been the most successful. They’ve impressed everyone. The Indians, who have the biggest contingent, were shocked. These girls won these medals in a Middle Eastern country. It broke all kinds of misconceptions that people had about Pakistan.”, he said.
