Pakistan hockey head coach Shahnaz Sheik surrendered from his post on Thursday months after the national team failed to fit the bill for the Olympics without precedent for its history.
The acquiescence came amid a Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) meeting in Islamabad. Further, it was chosen in the meeting that PHF secretary Rana Mujahid Ali will keep up his position till 2018.
The meeting, which was between 95 of the 105 individuals from the hockey alliance, was held in Crown Plaza Hotel, Islamabad. The fundamental plan of the evening was for the new organization president, resigned Brigadier Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, to take a vote of certainty from the individuals.
Pakistan, which has won Olympic gold in the game three times and the big showdown four times, completed eighth in the Olympic qualifying rounds in Belgium in July, and will now not participate in the Rio Olympics in 2016.
The 43-year-old, who was a piece of the 1994 World Cup winning group, is an International Hockey Federation (FIH) qualified mentor and has served Egypt and Azerbaijan other than having a spell with the Greenshirts 10 years prior.
